Call for Scores – Choir

Rathdown Cantori, a Ladies chamber choir of approximately 25 members, based in Glenageary, Co. Dublin, will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their formation this coming academic year. The choir have performed in a variety of venues over the past decade, such as the National Concert Hall and the American Ambassadors Residence, as well as local venues in Glenageary and Dalkey,

especially their “home” venue of Rathdown school and music school. They have participated and been prizewinners in competitions such as Arklow music festival and AIMS, New Ross. The choir repertoire covers many musical styles, from Classical and sacred, to Popular, Irish and World music.

To mark their first decade, composers are invited to set a piece for the choir, to be premiered at the Anniversary concert in November 2015 at Rathdown School. The text is original, comprising contributions from all choir members and should be set for upper voices in two, three or four parts, with a duration of up to 5 mins approx. As well as being performed at the concert by the choir, the successful piece will be awarded a cash prize of 200. Closing date for completed scores is: Friday 21st August
