A concert focusing on the themes of dance music and remeberance, the 2nd half of the performance will feature the premiere performance of Alastair Savage’s new composition ‘Scenes Of Liberation’ inspired by his visits to historic 2nd world war sites in Northern France. Alongside the new piece will some music by the Czech composer Erwin Schulhoff who died in 1942 as a prisoner of war. The first half of the concert features a Bach unaccompanied cello suite performed by Tom Rathbone and some 18th century Scots fiddle repertoire featuring Alastair on violin.
