Ten Wee Drams

Event Details

Sarah Watts (bass clarinet/contrabass clarinet) performs a solo recital of ten pieces by Scottish and Scottish-based composers. These pieces were commissioned to celebrate 10 years of bass clarinet courses on the island of Raasay, and Sarah Watts gave the premiere performance in April, in the distillery on the island. Composers were asked to respond to Raasay’s culture, heritage and landscape, and to the new distillery in particular – hence the overall title, “Ten Wee Drams”.

Composers include Piers Hellawell, Alasdair Nicolson, Stuart MacRae, Iain Matheson, Oliver Searle, Jane Stanley, Jo Stollery, Pete Stollery, William Sweeney; and Sarah Watts herself.

The concert is presented by the Scottish Arts  Trust. Tickets £15.00 including a glass of wine, available in advance from the Scottish Arts Club, 24 Rutland Square, Edinburgh: or at the door.
