Fifth International Young Composers Academy in Tchaikovsky city, August 29 – September 11, 2015.

The Fifth Academy will take place in Tchaikovsky city from August 29 to September 11, 2015, followed by concert in Moscow in September 14.

Deadline for applications is May 31st, 2015.

8. 2-3 scores of your representative pieces in pdf

The competition is open to composers up to 35 years old.

The results of the selection stage will be announced till June 10th by a jury consisting of the soloists of the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME).

12 students and 3 trainees will be selected for the participation. Besides it will be provided 8 special stipendiums. Selected composers pay only travel to Moscow. Travel from Moscow to Tchaikovsky and back, food, accommodation and studies are covered by the Academy.
12 selected students are proposed to compose a 6-8 minutes piece (or a complete part of a bigger work) for one of the proposed combinations of the MCME line-up:

Female voice
Flute (also piccolo, alto-flute, bass-flute)
Clarinet (also bass-clarinet)
Piano
Violin
Cello

The final concerts of the new pieces by the composers-students will take place in Tchaikovsky city (Musical College, September, 11) and in Moscow (Philharmonics Chamber Hall, September 14)

Each student will have 6 hours of individual lessons (2 hour-long lessons with each professor), 1 hour-long individual meeting with each musician (participating in the piece performance) and 3 hour-long rehearsals with the musicians of the MCME. Each trainee will have 6 hours of individual lessons (2 hour-long lessons with each professor).
Besides individual lessons, each professor will hold 2 open lectures, and each participant will have a hour-long presentation.
Wishing to come at their own expenses are welcome. The “free listeners” can follow all public events of the academy: lectures, presentations, rehearsals, concerts, but they have no possibility for individual classes.
