Franz-Liszt Scholarship for Composition, Weimar

The Liszt School of Music in Weimar invites applications for residential scholarships for young composers every year. Rent-free accommodation in Weimar will be provided to the scholar for three months, as well as a monthly grant of 1 000 Euro. During their stay, scholars have the opportunity to take part in artistic and academic life at the college. If applicable, the composers’ work can be performed by college ensembles.

Instrumental or acousmatic composition (alternating every year)
2015: acousmatic composition (music for loudspeaker)
2016: instrumental composition

Allowance of 1.000 Euro per month

Allocation of a sponsorship award
3 months

Maximum age: 35 years
Degree in composition
Application deadline: yearly, on April 30
Scholars and sponsorship award winners selected during a workshop in mid-July at the college
