JAM’s Call for Music is now OPEN!

September 25, 2015 in All Opportunities, choral, Composers by mwhiteside

Successful submissions will be performed at JAM’s 2016 season launch concert at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, London on 17th March 2016.  The concert will be performed by The Chapel Choir of Selwyn College Cambridge, Onyx Brass and Simon Hogan (organ), conducted by Michael Bawtree.  The submissions will be joined by JAM’s stunning commission by Thea Musgrave The Voices of our Ancestors.  This performance will be professionally recorded for your use in publicising your work.  Submissions may have repeat performances around the UK.

The criteria for submitting is as follows:

Submit music for choir, brass quintet and organ, or any combination of these forces.  A solo trumpet piece, is just as relevant as an organ and tenor piece or one for all forces.

Anyone aged 18 or over may submit music to JAM if they are born, living or studying in the UK.

A maximum time limit of 10 minutes per piece is stipulated. There is no minimum limit – a short fanfare is just as relevant as a 10 minute piece for all the forces.

JAM will also be holding composition masterclasses this Autumn in London and Oxford with tutors Judith Bingham (composer),  Daniel Cook (suborganist at Westminster Abbey) and Tim Jackson (composer and principal french horn at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic).
