McCormick Marimba Festival Call for Scores

The University of South Florida’s Percussion Ensemble is announcing a call for scores for mallet/percussion ensemble. One piece will be premiered by the USF Percussion Ensemble at the McCormick Marimba Festival, Jan. 29-30, 2016, in Tampa, FL.

The annual McCormick Marimba Festival was founded by Professor of Music Robert McCormick at the University of South Florida. It is a unique festival involving major universities and solo performers from across the USA. The McCormick Marimba Festival was developed in 2002 to promote the study of performance practice, interpretation, and the introduction of new literature into marimba performance.

Please submit a short bio, PDF score, and program notes by email to Professor Robert McCormick (mccormic@usf.edu). Midi recordings are optional but encouraged.

Criteria
– Work must be unpremiered
– Open to composers of all ages and nationalities
– Instrumentation: Percussion with mallet emphasis (3 to 15 players)
– There is no application fee
