Mélange Saxophone Quartet – 2015 Saxophone Quartet Composition Competition

April 9, 2015 in All Opportunities, Composers by newmusicscotland

The Mélange Saxophone Quartet is pleased to announce its 2015 Saxophone Quartet Composition Competition. The aim of this competition is to select at least four previously unrecorded works for saxophone quartet, and to record them on a professional album. A secondary aim of this composition competition is to perform each of the winning works on our upcoming recital tours and at national and international saxophone conferences, in addition inspiring new composers to continue to write for our genre. The winners of this competition will have their works recorded on a professional album, to be completed in fall of 2015, and released shortly thereafter.

In addition to recording all four winning entries on a professional album, the Mélange Saxophone Quartet is prepared to offer a Grand Prize of $500 to the work that we consider to be of the highest quality.

Grand Prize (1): $500

Wining Compositions (4): Inclusion of the work on an upcoming professional album.
