Call for Works MUSLAB 2015
Asociación Camin-Art y Ensamble MUSLAB invite:

Composers, regardless their age and nationality are invited to submit their works of electro-acoustic music, electroacoustic music and video, Video Mapping, created after January 1, 2009.

Guidelines for submission of works:

• Deadline for receipt of entries will Date: August 29, 2015
They will participate works composed after January 2009
• The duration of the work will be between 5 and 20 minutes
• Only one work per category defined by composer admitted
• Entries must be signed by the author or authors (no pseudonyms)
• Works that have been previously submitted to competitions and concerts, may participate if accompanied by a letter of consent for presentation and recording this show.
• There is no charge for registration

Categories:
a. Category A is open to electroacoustic music compositions of autonomous art (music band), a single independent movement duration.
b. Category B is open to compositions of autonomous art electro music, or only to electroacoustic and Video independent movement.
c. Category C is open to compositions of Visual Art – Video Art.

Formats : stéréo, 3.0, 4.0, 5.1, 6.0 8.0.

Works submitted to the Muestra Internacional de Musica Electroacustica MUSLAB 2015, shall be electroacoustic pieces, composed and recorded in studio. Works have to be displayed by loudspeakers in concert, with no intervention of live sound sources. They may include a maximum of eight channels and should have duration between five and twenty minutes.
Visual Art – Video Art could be projected in public buildings, you can ask for photos if you will present a mapping project.

Each composer may submit only one entry for each category of no more than 20 minutes in length. Works may have participated in previous or ongoing contests, provided that a letter is submitted permitting the reproduction of the works published in this Exhibition.
Works must specify the composer’s name.
There is no registration fee.
Muestra Internacional de Música Electro acústica MUSLAB 2015 is not a competition, it is an inclusive project that seeks to create opportunities for the diffusion and promotion of sound art using our public spaces for presentations. Our objective is to promote inclusion, cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence in society.
MUSLAB Ensemble will select as many works as possible, prioritizing works in terms of sound and visual quality.

We would like to know if you intend to attend the event. Confirmation of attendance will determine the order of programming and available space. All composers / sound artists’ works participating will be programmed regardless their assistance.
MUSLAB will assist artists in their accommodation with the best artistic and humane conditions possible, but it will not assume the responsibility nor the expenses. However, MUSLAB will help artists fund their expenses through invitation letters or else, sent to the instances to whom it may concern.

The jury in charge of selecting the works to be shown shall be appointed by the direction of Camin-Art Cultural Association and MUSLAB Ensemble. It will be composed of electro-acoustic composers of music, musicologists, and recording engineers Zero records who specialize in the field of electroacoustic music.

Submission:

A CD must be sent to the following address by August 29, 2015.
Entries in category A, B and C, must be recorded at an appropriate technical level for playback and stereo / 4.0, 5.1 / 8.0 / format prints must be submitted on a CD or DVD, and cataloged for the full duration.
Proposals in categories A, B and C must be accompanied by a note (if necessary), technical and artistic, name of the studio where the work was created, its duration, graphics, etc., to be included in the program description.
Entries in categories AB and C must be accompanied by a brief biographical sketch of the artist, short biography, nationality, address, phone number, fax and email as attachment.
Note: You can register electronically and send your music in any dropbox server to send his work provided you have adequate quality). CD Shipping will always be a premium for that download times can be very long when video and multi-channel.
Audio recordings submitted to the competition will not be returned to the Composers, and will remain in the Association for electro-acoustic files and donated to the Fonoteca Nacional de Mexico.
By participating with their work in the competition, the composer consents MUSLAB to show his or her work in concerts and radio broadcasts where MUSLAB 2015 Show will air. Composer retains copyright.
If you decide to participate in the selection for the production of a CD-DVD that will be sent to different music libraries and libraries of the world, composer must send a letter consent to record their work in the compilation MUSLAB 2015 CD DVD. The composer keeps copyright but allows the distribution of his work.
The selection committee may decide not to include one piece in the program or change the program.
All participants will be notified that when their works arrive.
Participant’s compositions will be broadcast on radio.
