Nuove Armonie – Call for scores

The Janus Ensemble are announcing a call for scores for upcoming new composition concerts! Our composition project Nuove Armonie aims to promote new music by emerging composers. Chosen compositions will be performed alongside other works in the ensemble’s concert season. Chosen composers will be invited to take part in the rehearsal process and collaborate with our musicians.

We are making a call for our next concert which will take place in June 2015. Submissions will also be taken into consideration for future performances (e.g. September 2015).

Submission deadline for June concert: Friday 1st May 2015 (5pm)

You will know your work has been selected by Wednesday 20th May 2015

Compositions that have not been chosen for this upcoming concert may still be taken into consideration for future concerts.

Guidelines for submissions:

– There are no age or nationality restrictions, but this call is intended to provide performance opportunities for emerging composers.
– Maximum size of the ensemble: 2-2-2-2; 3-3-2-1; strings (6-6-4-4-3); percussion (2), piano.
– Compositions can be in the form of a concerto or with max. 2 singers.
– Maximum length of the composition 20 minutes.
– Preference may be given to unperformed works

To apply, please submit the following:

– PDF of the full score.
– Programme notes (including performance history if applicable).
– A short biography.
– If possible, a recording (live or MIDI).

Composers can submit UP TO three works.
