OPEN CALL: Performing Arts Delegation 2015

September 3, 2015 in All Opportunities by newmusicscotland

In partnership with Creative Scotland, we are proposing a scoping visit to India bringing producers and facilitators from the performing arts sector to refresh and foster existing and new connections between Scotland and India.

The delegation will be formed of up to 8 Scottish delegates and the visit will take place from 2nd to 9th November 2015 (travel dates will be confirmed in the offer letter).

We are interested in ideas and projects that are, or have potential to be, jointly and equally developed with artists from each country, based on shared values and mutuality. This visit will be supported by the British Council Arts teams in Scotland and India, and by Creative Scotland. Creative Scotland’s underlying interest is for collaborations between India and Scotland to have potential to develop and expand the practice of both established and emerging artists and organisations in both countries.

We will select up to 8 delegates from the performing arts sector who are producers and facilitators (individuals or organisations) who have a focus on one or more of the following themes:

– Arts and Disability
– Festival programming
– Socially engaged artistic practice

How to apply?

Please submit an expression of interest to by close of business on Wednesday, 9th September. Applicants should include the following information:

– Mino-bio of applicant
– Existing relationships or projects with India
– Potential mechanisms to work with Indian artists
– Immediate goals from this trip (e.g. what would you like to get out of the visit?)

Applications will be assessed based on the expression of interest provided and whether the professional practice resonates with the focus of this scoping visit. Applications will be jointly assessed by British Council and Creative Scotland, and successful delegates will be informed by Monday, 14th September 2015.
