/rythmos Piano and Percussion Duo Call for Submissions

/rhythmos is seeking a new work for piano and percussion to be played at its inaugural spring concert in Columbus, OH. The winning piece will be performed at the duo’s inaugural concert at Wild Goose Creative (link here) along with other contemporary works.

/rhythmos was formed in the summer of 2016 by the Columbus-based composers and instrumentalists Zach Koors and John Huenemann. More info can be found at http://koorsmusic.weebly.com/ and www.johnhuenemann.com.

Submission details:

1. Works must be written for piano and percussion duo.
2. Piano parts may not include inner-piano techniques, but all three pedals are available.
3. Due to the available space and venue, only acoustic works will be considered at this time.
4. Percussion part will be performed by 1 player with any combination or subset of the following: glockenspiel, kick bass drum, set of 5 toms, 13” steel snare drum, 14” maple snare drum, 12” tambourine, 15” frame drum, 10” splash cymbal, 14” sizzle cymbal, 18” thin crash, 21” ride cymbal, cowbell
5. Works should be between 2-10 minutes in length.
6. Works submitted should include a score PDF and MP3 of audio recording or realization (MIDI or live performance, etc.) Links to files are strongly preferred.
