Sounds Like THIS Festival 2017

Call for contributions to electroacoustic/audiovisual/multichannel concerts.

We are delighted to announce our first call for works for Sounds Like THIS 2017 hosted by Leeds College of Music (LCoM).

The festival will feature a range of events from Tuesday 14 March to Friday 24 March 2017. We will be issuing further calls and announcements in the coming weeks.

You will not be charged to participate in the particular concert you are programmed to play in, however we do encourage you to purchase tickets for other events in the festival.

This call refers to the diffusion concerts to be held in The Venue on Friday 17 March and Saturday 18 March 2017. The concerts will be curated by Dr Robert Bentall (Senior Lecturer) along with a panel from LCoM and presented on our multichannel rig.

As usual, we are taking an open-minded approach to the work submitted and are interested to hear and present an exciting range of music in these performances.

:: Stereo acousmatic/electroacoustic music for diffusion
:: Interdisciplinary work which includes sound and music
:: Multichannel pieces (5.1 and up to 8 channel + LFE)
:: Multimedia/audiovisual pieces
:: Solo instrument and fixed medium and/or live electronics*

*we may be able to supply performers in some instances, but you should consider acquiring your own performers since the budget available at LCoM is small.

We are considering the presentation of audiovisual installation works to be presented alongside the concert performances in our public spaces. The Robert Tebb Room, situated alongside The Venue, is ideal for this kind of presentation.
To participate in this call, please provide a clear proposal with full technical details of the work, e.g. number of channels of audio, projection, playback format etc., and all and any other resources required to realise your work.

We will need to know, in detail, what equipment you would provide and what you would require of LCoM.
