The St Andrews Music Centre, Philip Stopford and Voces8 are looking for new music to be workshopped on 22nd October as part of St Andrews Voices Festival.

Composers aged 16-35 living or studying in the UK are invited to set one of the following texts for single or double SATB choir:

Jonah 2vv1-9

Psalm 93vv1-4

John 10vv1-4

Ecclesiastes 12vv1-7

Texts are available from www.st-andrews.ac.uk/music/callforscores

The texts, chosen by Rev Dr Donald MacEwan – St Andrews University Chaplain, are united by the theme of the voice.

At least three scores will be selected for the public workshop on Thursday 22nd October at 7pm. It is expected that shortlisted composers will attend this workshop, where Voces8 will sing through the selected pieces and, along with composer Philip Stopford, offer guidance and advice. Pieces must not have previously been performed and should be between 3 and 6 minutes long.
