TICF is sponsored by the College of Music Mahidol University and individual donors.
The Thailand International Composition Festival was established in 2005 with the goal of improving the standard of Composition Education in Thailand and Southeast Asia. This program intends to create opportunities for emerging composers, in order to develop their individual careers and achieve recognition for them.
The 6 finalist works will be performed by Círculo Trio. Círculo Trio, is an ensemble that aims to bring new music to new audiences and promote performances of lesser-known gems of the chamber music repertoire. In line with that vision, Círculo Trio made their Lansing debut concert in January 2016 at the Music at the Mansion concert series, premiering a new work written for the group by New York City-based Italian composer Paolo Marchettini. Círculo Trio was founded in December 2014 by three graduate students of the Michigan State University College of Music.
