The eviMus Festival Call for Works

he eviMus Festival and the KuBa – Kulturzentrum am EuroBahnhof present the 2. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustiche und visuelle Musik from the 4th to 8th of november 2015 in Saarbrücken (Germany).  The eviMus Festival is a five-day Festival focussing on new music in all of its forms. All events are free and open to the public.

All composers, regardless nationality, age or career stage, are invited to apply. Since the number of applications exceeds the places available, there will be a selection process.

How to apply:

The application must fulfill the following requirements:

Send a PDF, ODT or DOC with contact information, composer’s biography and a description of the idea of your work      (program notes).
Send an email with an online link to your work (on soundcloud, youtube, vimeo…) to: info at evimus dot de.

or

Send a download link to your work on a file delivery service such as DropBox or Mediafire in .zip or .rar format. Multi-channel works (up to 8 channels) must be submitted as a stereo mix. Please do not send email file attachments. In case of selection you will need to send us an uncompressed version of the files.

The submitted works must fulfill the following requirements:

Composers can submit several works (but only one work per composer will be include in the concerts). Works who take 10 minutes or less are desired, they shouldn’t exceed 12 minutes.
The submitted works must fulfill the following requirements:

 Two channel (stereo) works for fixed media (Format: Audio CD or WAV files)
Up to eight channel works for fixed media (Format: WAV files or AIFF)
Solo instrument/Voice and fixed media or live electronics (composer has to provide performers).
Works for video and music
Sound Installations and Interactive Media (composer has to provide all non standard equipment)

On the 2. Saarbrücker Tage für elektroakustiche und visuelle Musik will also be room for discussions about the relation between music, technology and society. Everyone is welcome to participate. In order to organize these discussion-sessions convenient, everyone is welcome to submit papers with hypotheses, ideas or proposals. Also discussions of submitted works are desired.

Start of applications: 1 august 2015

Deadline for applications: 15 october 2015

End of selection process and notification: 25 october

Final deadline for all performance material: 1 November 2015

Composers will be notified of the results by email.
