Women in Music-Columbus Call for Scores

Women in Music-Columbus is issuing a Call for Scores by women composers for possible performance in 2015-16 for its “Sundays at the Huntington” concert series on the campus of Capital University, Columbus, OH and for its Member Musicales in private homes. Composers must be 21 years of age by the deadline. Visit www.womeninmusiccolumbus.com for information about the organization.

Works are to be solo or chamber works up to five players. Ensembles can be strings or woodwinds or mixed, with or without piano. Additional instruments available include horn, soprano and mezzo-soprano. Of special interest are works for flute or cello ensembles. Shorter works (10 minutes or less) are preferred, although works up to 15 minutes will be considered. Works with electronics will not be considered. No more than two scores per composer, please. Please send scores and recordings on CD (MIDI realizations are acceptable); an information sheet with composer’s name, address, telephone and email, and titles and durations of submitted work(s); and an SASE for return of materials, if desired, to:

Submissions must be received by Friday, April 24, 2015. You will receive an email confirmation of the receipt of your materials.

If your piece is chosen for performance, a complete set of parts will be required within two weeks of notification.
