Paid online residency for older emerging artists in Scotland

Deadline: 12 Apr 2021

Description

Applications are open for Space/Time 2021, a paid online retreat for Scottish-based older artists in the early stages of a new career.

Led by Magnetic North in partnership with Luminate, the Space/Time artists’ residency will run from 31st May until 4th June.

The residency offers six older artists working in any art form the opportunity to explore how creativity can be nourished and how artists can challenge themselves.

Sessions will be facilitated by Magnetic North’s Artistic Director, Nicholas Bone, and Creative Director of Red Bridge Arts, Alice McGrath.

It is open to artists who:

Are based in Scotland
Are aged 50+
Have recently embarked on a new artistic career

At least one place will be awarded to an artist from a minority ethnic background.

Luminate Director, Anne Gallacher, said: “We’re delighted to be working once again with Magnetic North to provide this opportunity for six emerging artists who are beginning a new artistic career later in their lives.

“The residency that we ran at Cove Park in 2017 was a fantastic experience for the six artists involved. It showed that it’s never too late to embark on something new and that creativity has no age.”

The deadline for applications is midday on Monday, 12th April*. Full details about the residency, including the application process are HERE.
