Repertoire Sòlás Collective - Improvised, by Tom Macfadyen
Description
Sòlás Collective are the experimental trio of piper Fionnlagh Mac A'Phiocair, violist Sarah Hanniffy, and electronic musician Tom Macfadyen. They made their debut at Piping Live in 2024, and have since gone on to captivate audiences with their rich blend of Scottish and Irish traditional music and experimental electronics. Their practice of improvisation in their performances promises a one of a kind show, immersing the audience in a deep sound world with inflections of folklore, oral history, natural landscapes, Gàidhlig song, and everyday sounds in the stunning Pyramid Hall.
Their debut album 'where voices meet, where echoes align', is a live recording from their last performance at the Old Hairdressers in Glasgow in February 2024. The album is available to stream and download on Bandcamp.
Sòlás Collective are supported by the RCS Innovation Studio.
