David is an Edinburgh trained and active musician. He spent many years as Director of Music in The Scottish Borders, Angus and the Royal High School Edinburgh. Having had a lifelong interest in composition, after local authority reorganisation, he returned to the University of Edinburgh to complete a masters in composition. Now specializing in composition, he also plays string bass and is on the committee of the ESM. He has written in most genres and had performances across Scotland. Major works include a Clarinet concerto and Viola Concertino. Smaller works include a wind quintet, secular and sacred vocal music and a wide variety of chamber works from solo pieces to string quartet.
