Caledonian Tracks is a new work for wind ensemble, with flexible scoring for individual ensemble make-ups.
The work was inspired by a train journey through Scotland and explores the steady rhythmic momentum of the train against a backdrop of changing, fleeting landscapes in the background. The work's completion was interrupted by COVID-19 and the mid-section of the music reflects the stark contrast of momentum; a section that reflects on the period when 'the world stood still'.
